BIOGRAPHY

Professor Dennis Lau is an academic cardiac electrophysiologist at The Royal Adelaide Hospital and Clinical Professor at The University of Adelaide. Having obtained his MBBS from the University of Melbourne, he undertook cardiology advanced training at the Austin and Repatriation Hospital in Victoria followed by subspecialty electrophysiology training and a PhD with the University of Adelaide. He then undertook postdoctoral training in The Netherlands at Maastricht University and Medical Centre. His appointment as staff specialist in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at the Royal Adelaide Hospital commenced in 2013 where he also oversees the cardiac device and pacing clinic. His research is focused on dysautonomia/ postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, atrial fibrillation, risk factor management and cardiac implantable electronic devices. He has published more than 260 peer reviewed journal articles and is an editorial board member for 7 international journals.
