World Heart Federation 2023 Emerging Leaders announced
Congratulations to two of our members, the only two Australians who have been appointed as part of the World Heart Federation’s 2023 Emerging Leaders cohort. (pictured left to right) Dr Jessica Orchard and Dr Elizabeth Paratz.
The 2023 cohort will focus on digital health and cardiovascular disease (such as coronary heart disease, hypertension and atrial fibrillation).

IN THE NEWS | INTRODUCING HEART RHYTHM VR
Prof Prash Sanders, as part of his work with the Heart Rhythm Society’s Digital Education Committee, talks about the new Heart Rhythm VR on Heart Rhythm TV.
This exciting new product line launched recently has the first virtual reality simulation: S-ICD Implantation. The simulation has both a training and an examination mode and provides an excellent, safe, repeatable opportunity for fellowship training as well as veteran electrophysiologists.

WA Cardiology Research Symposium | July 25

CSANZ NZ AGM 2023! A Great Meeting
Following a Mihi whakatau from representatives of Ngāti Whātua ki Orākei, and the traditional kapu time te pihikete, New Zealand Cardiac Society Chair Dr Selwyn Wong welcomed a strong delegation of over 400 members and guests to the opening of the 2023 ASM at the Aotea Centre. The theme of the meeting was ‘better together’ and the organising committee was led by Dr Seif El-Jack and Dr Andrew To both from Waitematā. (pictured right with Selwyn Wong centre)
After the opening ceremony, Selwyn was delighted to award the NZ Cardiac Medal to cardiac physiologist Fiona Riddell (pictured below). The medal is awarded to a member of the Cardiac Society who has made an outstanding contribution by making heart care better for New Zealanders.
