On Wednesday 12 June 2024, over 60 dedicated members of the CSANZ community gathered in Melbourne and Sydney for a night of networking and learning from world renowned cardiologist, Prof Martha Gulati, Cedars-Sinai, CA, USA.
The event was hosted by the CSANZ Women in Cardiology group, led by chair A/Prof Sonya Burgess.
Prof Martha Gulati presented on sponsorship-mentorship-allyship to advance equity and inclusion in cardiology, as well as the disparities for women receiving guidelines recommended treatment and impact.
Prof Gulati presented live at the Sydney event, with her presentation being live streamed to the dinner guests in Melbourne.
There were many valuable conversations throughout the night, with fantastic engagement from both Sydney and Melbourne participants, all contributing to the Live Q&A panel discussion.
Prof Gulati encouraged the audience to harness their strengths with support from great mentors and sponsors. Following the formal conclusion of the event, much of the Melbourne and Sydney audiences continued the conversation.
